Let's set the record straight I do not hate this show, as of writing this now this may be the first 2 star review this show has received. With that out of the way I have to say if little witch academia sucked(which it doesn't) it would be this show, Saying this is original content is an obvious lie.
I have no reason to think that the writer's don't have talent they do but they seem to be challenged, just within the first episode on full display. It starts with the main character luz in the principal's office playing with her action figure and a seemingly harmless snake as her (I assume single) mother? Is trying to explain to her that an act is not a substitute for a written book review its just lazzines, but she doesn't seem to understand this. Her mother even explained to her in a flashback sequence that what she thinks passes as creativity is actually disruptive to the whole class, then after that she told her that she was a danger to everyone around her, like what's the worst a bunch of (seemingly harmless) snakes could do besides playfully biting people with fangs that may or may not be venomous like what could go wrong really? The scene literally ends with the snake in Luz's hands attacking the principal and we only see an emotionalles expression on luz's face wondering if that doesn't count as a her fault for the actions of her snakes. Thous we see our first Disney troupe that all females are psychopaths with out exception.
