I was disappointed. I expected some meaningful discussion between two brilliant minds from widely different perspectives. Instead I felt the movie discussion lightly treated any philosophical differences. And in life CS Lewis was short, stubby & untidy. The actor portraying Lewis was talk, slim, & immaculately attired.

I became increasingly confused about the lack of historical accuracy in this otherwise interesting supposedly historic movie. According to a Google search there were two Queen Mary’s around a similar time. One, daughter of Mary Guise & King James of Scotland was raised in France & returned after becoming a widow to a French Dauphine to claim her throne in Scotland. The other Mary, daughter of Catherine of Aragon & Henry 8th had a desperately unhappy life separated from her mother who was exiled to France & grew up with her half siblings at Hatfield House. Elizabeth was THIS MARY’s half sister - not the Mary who went to Scotland. Surely we can expect some basic historical accuracy at least in the basic facts.
