I finally got to watch the movie that everyone is talking about. It was shocking to see how far Indian movies have come, and not in a good way. I didn't care much about the soundtrack that everyone is raving about, it was fitting but not as spectacular as how people were describing it.
The kissing and sex scenes seemed uncomfortable, it seems like bollywood tries it's best to go as far as they can without showing nudity, and it looses it's beauty of being true to it's setting.
As far as the action and fight scenes go, it looks like the producer was trying to create a Tarantino movie, and I think he did a decent job with it.
I know this is only a movie and the actors are playing their respective characters in it, but the way women are treated in this movie is something that shocked me. I think this movie will be very difficult to watch if there are women in the audience who have experienced spousal, physical or psychological abuse.
Bobby Deol was my favorite actor growing up, and this movie was not a good choice for him. Dont get me wrong, I think he can play a very good villian, but this was a mockery of his talent.
In any good antihero movie, the goal is to move or sway the audience to love and sympathize with the main character. However, in this case, our antihero begins as a spoiled disrespectful brat and grows into a spoiled disrespectful man.
I give this movie 2 stars, one for the psychological dynamics between the son and the father, it was somewhat convincing. And the other for the over the top fight sequences.
