I too have been a fan of many segments of Sunday morning and mourn that CBS has cut the moment of nature time, decided the highlights of the next week can just go on line and decided to basically do infomercials for an exercise bike company instead of a thoughtful report. Of course there is always the plug for some product CBS produces or publishes too. But I am writing to tell you how appalled I was at your coverage of the first lady, Melania Trump. I hoped to see her strengths and programs she supports profiled and some fair reporting about -- well her-- as a first lady. Instead, the bias was skewed towards the left again in the reporting to take pot shots at Pres. Trump using your perspective of what his wife might be doing to "control" him. And based on the book by a woman who talked to other people. That is called hearsay and is inherently unreliable. But your reporters now don't seem to understand journalistic ethics, integrity and thoughtful reporting.
Yes, Sunday morning had many puff pieces that were purely there as fun or thoughtful reflection. But now it is just a bunch of opinion pieces labeled as reporting. The nice thing about DVRs is that I can fast forward if I chose. I try not to do that, so I know what viewpoints are being forced on public viewers, but I am just not sure it is worth it any more.
And, I also was shocked that Veteran's Day and Memorial Day were not more appropriately focused in content. Do any of your programmers have a lick of common sense for timing?
If Jane Pauley is the driver of the content, well Jane, sorry, but it is time to step aside. Maybe they can find another "Charles" with integrity for the broadcast and keep it's loyal viewers (or lure them back).
