So much part of my teen/youth. Irrespective of the military aviation genre, it captures the late 80s vibe with a near perfect soundtrack. Quotable lines, cheesy plot and gung-ho fighting are excusable for this visual rollercoaster. The mid story event (no spoilers) is a gut wrencher but propels the plot on to a fantastic climax. Not the most subtle of subtexts but a riot to watch and compare notes with friend. A love letter by Tom to the Tom Cat.
