Great mystery. Very engaging. Must watch

The movie is very upsetting. Brings out the hard- hitting reality of our indifferent and insensitive society very well. We don't even realise that we are 'othering' all the time and not even treat this 'other' with any respect and care. The so-called victims of our apathy and the system s wrath, would therefore nurture hatred to the extent that it could metamorphose into something we will not be able to deal with. The movie shows it too poignantly. Performance of Joaquin Pheonix is very powerful and heart rending. The only problem is that violence in film somehow gets justified. Violence perpetuates a viscous circle of killings which repulses the audience to the core. A dark film to be seen at one' s own risk

A must watch for it's acting, direction and photography. A gripping thriller that mulls over the dark world of crime . The script is tight and profound

The movie lives up to the Karan Johar signature mark of extravagant sets and larger than life characterisations. The sets are stunning indeed. The theme of the film is very bold. It is about celebration of love outside the institution of marriage. Treating love as love and not shame. All characters are bold and outspoken. A theme that many can not even relate to in the present times is set in the 1940s against the backdrop of pre- partition hindu- muslim hatred days. Unfortunately, the movie does not justify its theme. Without taking it to any culmination, it ends in the usual cliched fashion...the characters eventually adjusting in loveless scenario of a marriage. Who knows what was then the purpose of this visual opus.

Gully Boy is a very well-directed and well-acted film. As expected from the talented Zoya Akhtar, the depiction of gap between the haves and the have-nots is poignant and ponderable. Unlike her previous films, the canvas of this film is much larger. It is not just about a few people's deepest emotions and relationships, but a much larger Mumbai 's Dharaavi family. As it is based on a true story, it is even more heart-rending. The spirit to aspire for dreams, the zeal to survive amidst odds and the enthusiasm of pursuits is a treat to the eyes. Extremely well-penned n choreographed poems makes the film truly enjoyable. A must watch for all ages... Rating- 4/5
