Sci-fi is about suspending disbelief and immersing yourself in another world. But it's impossible to do that in 'Another Life' given the terrible writing, spotty acting, and the distracting incompetence of the amateur crew. Spolier: Quickly into the first episode, the first of two hibernating crews is awakened to deal with an unexpected crisis. But they're so laughably terrible at their jobs, I found myself hoping death would find them and we'd be able to wake up the second crew. I'm willing to give shows the benefit of the doubt if there's a compelling character or plot line. But I cannot bring myself to do that here, because the show just doesn't give you anything to hope for. If I'm already rooting for the unseen enemy, something has gone terribly wrong.
