Leo is a slickly made action thriller with a career-best performance from Thalapathy Vijay and some hair-raising music direction from Annirudh Ravichander. However, the film is let down by a far-fetched plot and a lack of humor.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has created a dark and gritty world for Leo, and Vijay is perfectly cast as the brooding gangster with a hidden past. His screen presence is electric, and he carries the film on his shoulders. The action sequences are also top-notch, and the chase sequence in the first half is particularly impressive.
However, the film's plot is a bit far-fetched. The reason for people trying to kill Leo is not very convincing, and the film could have used some more comedy. Vijay is known for his comedic timing, but there is very little humor in Leo.
Overall, Leo is a good entertainer with some excellent performances and action sequences. But it's not Lokesh Kanagaraj's best work, and it's not without its flaws.
