I went in completely blind but interested because of of the writer/director Taika Waititi. The movie hits so many different emotional chords and while playful and silly at times, tackles some deep concepts. While there are a few, the main theme centers around hate born of ignorance because someone is different. That is very relatable to me as a black man. Once the ignorance is stripped away all that is left is a mirror. Excellent film.
