You'll leave watching this anthology with one thing if nothing else: Hope! This series tries to simplify, break down and explain 'love' like so many others have tried before, and like so many others it fails spectacularly. And, yet even someone like me (who hates almost all cringy Hollywood love stories) had a wide smile throughout its length. Perhaps what works here is the fact that no matter how miraculous or superficial - made for TV they may seem, these are stories of real people who went through these extraordinary lengths and made these huge sacrifices in their lives to chase what they believed was their one true love, and that more than anything is why everyone should watch this series, not for the brilliant cast and acting, not for the spectacular stories of simple people, but to remind ourselves, that in this modern world that we live in, good old fashioned true love still persists and that no matter what happens we should not settle for anything less than that.

This film is a Dark telling of the people who thrive on bending the law for the greater good. It will leave you with very little hope and optimism, which has become the USP of Denis Villeneuve following his 2013 hit Prisoners. The plot alone is very bland in which the us army is hunting a Mexican cartel boss. But this simple material has been raised to such high levels by the director and the great Roger Deakins, that one can only marvel at it. The characters and the story are very well developed with extreme attention to detail and a very realistic portrayal of the world we live in. The already great talent onboard is fueled further by strong performances by Emily blunt and josh Brolin, along with Benicio del toro's career-best performance yet.

A film, for all intents and purposes, hauntingly simple and yet profound. This film's plot shares comparisons with many others, of most famously the brilliant Dead poet's society, the lot of which try to instill the overused message of 'carpe diem in its audience. But what differentiates this film is the masterfully written and structured script, that never takes itself too seriously, never feels cliche or predictable, and that is what makes it a must-watch. The script is greatly complimented by really outstanding acting overall. But the film is single-handedly carried by an amazing and genuine Johnny Depp. While I can easily say that this might not be his most renowned role, but it is without a doubt his best yet.

This show is a cinematic masterpiece. Must watch
