It was not a good movie. Story and screenplay did not have a pitch. Atlee didn’t use his opportunity well, he basically wrote a summary of all tamil mass films from the last 10 years. Anyway nothing will affect SRK.

Am giving 5 star for our Superstar Rajinikanth. He looks amazing and carries this movie on his shoulders flawlessly despite a not so perfect script. Cameos by Mohanlal and namma shivanna were fantastic and aptly used. Lot of mass scenes that overwhelms you with joy. The first half of movie I was wondering if I was watching Quentin Tarantino movie, too much brutality, very unusual of typical Rajini family entertainer; I think some scenes were unnecessarily gruesome without proper justification. Kids will need parental guidance to watch some scenes. But the movie picks up towards interval and second half, and keeps you thoroughly entertained. Gives you all the goosebumps you hope for in Thalaivar movie. Anirudh music and bgm is outstanding as always. Nelson could have done better in terms of screenplay and making the narrative more solid; the highs are followed by immediate lows that the high momentum loses its value. Regardless, go watch this movie in big screen and enjoy it. If you plan to take kids, just be aware you would want to avoid some action scenes.

I am a SRK fan and it’s a feast to see him back on screen and cheer for him. Visually the movie is stunning, logically not so great. There are moments like what the hell is happening, and moments that are wow. Looks like they have a lot of money but story and logic wise continues to be way behind. Please hire better writers. SRK lifts the movie and Deepika is omg and nails it in every frame. The cameo was the best and is gonna bring more money than any thing else in the movie.

I felt compelled to write this review after seeing so many poor reviews here. Looks like a scam to me. The movie is a full on family entertainer, masala, lots of laughs and the entire cast has performed well. Ranveer is spot on and is flawless with his acting skills. Go watch the movie in theater, you won’t be disappointed.

I don’t understand on what basis critics rate in their reviews; the movie is simply excellent, unique and pathbreaking!
