Sharp taunt thrilling ride. Well cast of unknowns and budgeted nicely. Gem of a flick. A teacher explorer type goes into some mysterious cave and goes missing. Later a mismatched band, consisting of his protege, relative and friends, they decide to backtrack his whereabouts from his last location. They eventually enter the same cave and chaos ensues. Twists and turns, revelations and time jumps are peppered throughout. There is an underlying tension of following the characters trying to escape valiantly, out of harm's way. Whether it be their unwitting questionable pursuers or sidestepping along the way atypical environmental shenanigans. I was narratively gripped all the way through. Ending was, in a way, out there?! The film utilizes well worn movie tropes but still, it does it well, so no harm done. Overall, ooh!!😃

This film is subversive, muddled, gritty, gruelling, dark and disjointed. The leads are all over the map and not necessarily cohesive. Skarsgard stands out as a sympathetic mute vigilante, searching for his lost love played by newcomer Saleh. She is the heart of this lackluster mystery. Her disappearance connects all the characters together. Some interesting visuals and a neat ending. Rudd breaks ground playing against type. It was fun watching Skarsgard move up the ladder, dispatching baddies left and right along the way. Elements of the film reminds me of the classic, Blade Runner. But this is still a miss for me. Overall, eh?!😛
