Only over hyped because of his first movie. Loved it ! I think horror fans were thirsting for a new plot and so sick of old ideas and re - makes. Definitely hid the real insidious nature from previews. Some corny stuff but OK for him to " signiture " his film, and did not take away from ultimate goal. .
