Atholl Hay

I served in the SADF on the Angolan border in 1981 so this was more than a movie for me, it was a cathartic experience! In my opinion this is probably one of the best and most relevant movies to come out of SA to date. It has made it onto the long list for Best Foreign Movie in the Golden Globes, so here's hoping that it receives the recognition it justly deserves! One technical mistake which keeps being mentioned by critics is the hair length, but I understand that the film was shot out of sequence on a tight budget and schedule. It's a pity but otherwise the script, photography, performances and direction are superb.
