Watching the movie tonight I was reminded of how much Elton John and Bernie Taupin provided a vast amount of the soundtrack of my life in the UK.
It rings true in that musical inspiration is brewed in pain, personal difficulty and stress.
It was enlightening to discover why certain songs were written, reflecting the rejection, lovelessness, loneliness and difficult relationships of a specific period.
Two of my favourite songs mIssing from the movie were “Skyline Pigeon” and “Song for Guy” but that is quibbling.
Overall a fine movie with amazing performances and terrific music.
