The movie captures very few elements from the chaos walking books. The story was altered and cut really short. There would need to be a chaos walking 2 for there to be a chance that the story is closer represented to the books. I would only recommend watching the movie after reading the short stories and the original trilogy by Patrick Ness. There are many missing explanations and details in the movie, but it still provides a cool visualisation of what was written in the books. Overall I am disappointed in the execution.
