Also, you guys do know Rosebud is a metaphor for Kane wishing he had a childhood with his family rather than being hoisted into wealth in Chicago, right? Mr. Bernstein even hints at this in the film by saying "Maybe Rosebud is something Kane never had" (Not word for word, but the gist of it). Sure there's the argument that it has no meaning, but that's the intention. On surface level it seems like nonsense blurted out as Kane's final words, but then you notice all the links to the themes of childhood and it has such a powerful and crucial message
