A woman who just become a mother went away from home for a vacation or spa day or whatever it is without any supervision is just ridiculous. It's just devastating to have a story like this. Nic could have asked for a friend or his dad at least to accompany her to wherever she went, even just for a one day trip activity. A lovely character to be killed this way so sudden and to have a bad ending to the character is just unacceptable. She's a strong woman character, but it's just weird to see how her character keeps being sacrificed to either being stabbed to protect someone despite being pregnant and no one protecting/ preventing a bad event that may come to her (lack of caution) or having an accident out of nowhere like everyone is careless to her. Knowing Conrad's background in military, his caution level should be higher. A suggestion to his wife to take someone with her for the trip would reduce the likelihood of error/ accident.
