Poppy Fields

We love this film and watch it every autumn. I thought Boyd Holbrook was British! It was creepy and seemed to be mixed with British, Irish and French themes, but it was filmed in France.

Best psycho thriller of 2019 to 2022 by far. Owen Teague is an up and coming gem of an actor. The movie unwinds slowly but the payoff is totally worth it. I bought this film directly after watching it. Yup, it's that good. 💯

I bought this film straight away after watching it. I watch movies all the time, and nothing ever shocks me - until this one. It's extremely violent as well as sexually twisted in a 1950s small town Texas setting where the good guy turns out to be anything but that. It made me think of something Ted Bundy would have read. Casey Affleck was perfect as the covert, handsome young psycho.

I kept renting this film on Redbox, so finally I just bought it. I watch it every Wednesday night without fail. Its creepiness is offset by a young police officer who reminds me of myself. The scenery is beautiful; the acting, though often satirical, is solid. I love this film and expect it to be a cult classic.

I think this was an underrated movie. The writer has the protagonists looking for "red lights", all the while putting "red lights" inside the movie that the audience needs to look for as well. I figured Simon Silver from the get, but the ending totally shocked me. I could float away on a cloud made of Cillian Murphy's voice in the letter-voice over he reads at the end. Sent me to tears.
