What a great idea.
What terrible execution.
Book was full of impossibility and contrived happenings.
A bit like a soap opera character waking from a drama " oh it was all a dream"

I have been reading this series from the beginning, I have long said DG is in need of a good editor.
However, I love the characters an in the long wait since the last book have enjoyed the TV series, but what a disapointment .
NOTHING HAPPENED!
In over 900 pages nothing occurred.
It was a collection of disjointed stories of life on the ridge with a few journeys added.
We have time travellers running around all over the place, Claire's first husband in ghost form, the intimation that those who travel through the stones can raise the dead. It is a farce.

If you want a movie that is more about making you think than having action served up to you, then this is the one.
While it has horror themes, to me that isn't the real purpose of this movie.
It is about love and loss and finding and losing each other in the most elemental way.
it is a story of humanity, not ghosts.
Just saw the one star reviews. Seriously? We watched it in a fully lit family lounge room, every image clear as a bell. Sure it wasn't sunlit meadows but that wasn't the mood.
Oh yes it wasn't obvious and made you think. Didn't realise that was an issue for people.
OK if you want a sunlit life where every answer is handed to you on a platter and you don't exercise that muscle between your ears then watch Extraction or A Christmas Prince.
This is a powerful, thoughtful movie. it's themes are easily comprehended - by anyone who doesn't check their brain at the door.
