Great western! Up there with some of Costner’s work. Baldwin and Fimmel turn in some fantastic performances. Was pleasantly surprised by this one. Highly recommend.

Sublime tense action scenes, superb performance from Tom Hardy and nice supporting roles from Timothy Olyphant and Forest Whitaker! Some ride!!! Loved it. Will be watching ever Xmas!

Must watch original show. There are some similarities to the Hellblazer graphic novels (Constantine), but Bacon’s character is more complex. Love the mix of horror, thriller, comedy, and it is done well tonally. Great direction, acting, action, and a good budget behind it. Great to see Bacon staring in a show of this calibre again. Brilliant.

I went in wanting to like this movie so bad! But they totally messed it up. The pacing, the rubbish cgi, the lack of nail biting action, certain characters not having enough screen time. Mackie is good when he’s part of a team, but he ain’t leading man material. Save your cash and stick on Winter Soldier (the best marvel movie imo).

Classic horror movie made by a massive horror fan who appreciated the genre!

Great suspenseful movie! Edge of your seat stuff. Great performance from Russell Crowe. He’s an actual beast in the movie. Good action and director keeps it tense from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Season 4 review The writing in this show is terrible. It’s like a room of people pitched in myriad ideas from the supernatural, horror, procedural, grounded in reality, put them into a jar, shook it, and then pieced all these different ideas together, and the result is a mess. ***SPOILERS*** The good - cinematography, the setting in Alaska, Jodie Foster. The bad - things that they chucked in from the original True Detective for no reason at all. The symbols, time is a flat circle, you’re not asking the right questions. They are all chucked in for no reason at all. Did a 5 year old write this after watching the first True Detective??? In the last episode it seemed like they had no idea how to conclude it, so they haul in the deus ex macchina (the justice grannies), to tie all these unrelated incidents together. No security cameras at a top research facility? Cleaners working out who the killers were (…and how did they know it wasn’t just one of the research guys that done it???). The ice caves being hard to find, yet they are right next to the research centre (underneath). The phone recording was different to how the actual murder actually panned out. How did all the scientists get down to the cave so fast if there was only one narrow entry with a ladder???? Why didn’t the scientist who survive just tell them that it was the justice grannies who came in reservoir dogs style with guns blazing???? Why did the German engineer have the same injuries to his eyes and ears??? Pollution would surely ruin the microbes they were drilling for. Damn…. It’s all just so stupid that it makes my head hurt thinking about it. It’s. So. Stupid. Nothing was really answered or resolved in the last episode regarding the supernatural elements in the show. Why was the tongue there???? The polar bear? The caribou? Rust’s dad???? The woman ok with helping people bury dead bodies??? The visions??? Why??? I had to go back and binge the first True Detective to gain a few more brain cells back. Terrible writing with a last episode that will make you ask yourself why you wasted your time watching the whole season. Cleaning ladies with guns…. I just can’t…..
