The set, prop and costume design was great throughout. Overall story expands upon the original with a lot of strong female actors. Unfortunately, Ryan Gosling gave another emotionless performance like he was reading the script for the first time. I dont hate him in all movies but this one I did. I think almost any other male lead would have been a better choice. Usually I love anything SciFi genre but he really ruined it for me. 3/5 stars

Whoever has rights to the Blair Witch in hollywood is certainly dropping the ball. A lot of effort in the backstory of the Blair Witch has been made yet they still just let a bunch of people run around the woods screaming- turning the camera away everytime something scary might happen. The SFX team are a bunch of con artists if they even paid them for the 6 seconds of CGI monster (poorly executed-coming from a student of animation and FX). Every other time the camera falls to the ground or aims at the trunk of a tree instead... maybe consider an audio novel full of screams instead of a movie next time. They are sitting on a gold mine but fail at reaching it EVERY SINGLE TIME. Step One: Learn what a witch is in folklore and maybe expand on that idea instead of randomly throwing sounds and shapes together hoping for a movie. This is the first movie review I have submitted on here- merely because I was so disappointed again by what could have been a good movie. Hollywood - call me.
