This movie was powerful. Took me by complete surprise. Thought it'd be a teeny bop Groundhog Day but it was far from that. More-so like a modernized Donnie Darko/Groundhog Day mashup.
It wound up being such a beautiful movie.
You watch this young teen do years of learning and growing up, by reliving one day.
[SPOILER] It seems the universe chose her to sacrifice herself in order to help so many in her life. While, also learning so much, herself. I believe the point was, really, her learning how much your actions/words impact those around you. It also shows the clarity you gain when you observe yourself and those around you. Life is beautiful once you accept you don't know everything and that's okay; leaving your mind open. Once you accept yourself and those around you. When you begin to truly love; life, your fellow people, and yourself. When you look at each mistake as a lesson and learn from them.
There's beautiful depth and meaning to this film. Had me in tears for the last 30 minutes, or so.
Highly recommended!
