so excited to have a mai-centered comic as she is my favorite character, and i think this expanded her story perfectly!! we finally get to see how she is now that she doesn't feel like she has to hide her emotions, and its nice to see her and zuko reconnecting. i also loved getting more of her backstory and seeing how she became friends with azula. spoilers: i like that they didn't have zuko & mai get back together in this comic, and that instead right now their rebuilding their friendship. i think this will set it up well for them to become a couple again in the future- as it is clear they still have feeling for each other. the comic does a wonderful job showing how well-suited they are, with zuko encouraging mai to take on a job that makes her happy, and also improving his communication.
