This book inspired me when I was 19 years old to drive up the Alcan Highway from Texas to Alaska. I got work fighting forest fires that summer and saw many parts of Alaska. I stayed 5 years in Alaska and graduated from the University of Alaska. I love this book! It inspired me to live my dreams.

I love the NewsHour! Why not do a segment about the Spanish Flu of 1918? Did 550,000 Americans die? Did it have two peaks? And, importantly, was a cure or vaccine discovered? Or, did the Spanish Flu stop on its own? What lessons might we learn for now? Thank you, Edward T. Martin

This is a profound and intriguing book! I began reading it one evening and literally could not stop; I put on the coffee pot and read for 18 hours to the end. Very thoughtful and compelling material. The "Jesus in India" movie by Paul Davids is also profound. I recommend this material highly.
