It starts off very well, exposing a troubled man unable to cope with a cold society. With no real nurturing, even from his mentally unstable mother, he looks for answers from his estranged father who shuns him. In a final effort to find closure, he obtains the County records on his mother by stealing them and finds she allowed his abuse as a helpless child. This causes his real demise into becoming a cold hearted killer. Phoenix does a superb job, but it's upsetting how the director plays out the 3rd part of this movie where the viewer is finally put in the middle of all the chaos in Gotham city. I personally feel they should have played out this whole movie only focused on the individual. It would've brought more to the main focus of Joker.
Maybe they should've named it. ' Bring out the Clowns '
