I have played many MLB The Show games on the Playstation ever since 2013 and MLB The Show 20 is the worst one that has come out since then. Every year I look forward to getting the new year's baseball game and I got the 2020 version around January. I think this version of MLB The Show is one of the worst ones yet due to the online play and the dynamics of the game. One reason is it is the worst because of the awful online play. . The only way to make online play fun is you need days of hard experience and you need to non-stop play. For a person that has school on top of sports it is very hard to have fun online. You need to play a lot to earn in game credits so you can buy better players to get on your team. You also need insanely fast and good wifi to play online. If you do not have good wifi your game will experience lots of lag, and if you have ever played a video game you know how hard it is to play with lag. Another reason online play is so hard is because the skill set with playing against other players. They randomly place you in a game with people who have spent days on this. It would be nice if they did what NBA 2k did and put you in a game with people with the same skillset as you. Next let’s talk about gameplay. The gameplay is terrible. All you have to do is time the pitch up good and it’ll go far one out of two times. WIth timing the ball up is super hard to do because you have to put your little cursor where the ball is coming then time the ball up to hit it well which rarely ever happens. The outfielders run around like they don't know what to do when a ball is hit to them and drop it most of the time. In the game mode, Road To The Show, they haven’t added anything new to it since 2013. It has been the same thing since. Play a showcase game, make a MLB team, play a few minor league games, then you are signed by the MLB of your choice. The baserunning concept of the game is really bad, when you are in a run down 1/2 times it will end in an out. If you accidentally tell them to go to the next base and quickly have them return it will take a very long time for them to reverse themselves.
