A refreshing experience on the Pokemon franchise! Admittedly, I was a bit worried about outgrowing the Pokemon games especially after I couldn't even bring myself to finish brilliant diamond. Legends of Arceus breathes fresh air into the experience and many of the new mechanics are fun to see in a new very different Pokemon world. 14 hours in and loving the new type of grind! Who knew being a glorified research assistant in a dangerous world could be so much fun 😸

Some of the pro-reviews are pretty harsh on this game. Normally I wouldn’t have given a thought to purchase anything from the producers of the technomancer and bound by flame, but this is a great game in its own right. I think this would be a fair comparison to dragon age style gameplay and the team came through on this one. There are lip synch issues now and again, but most wouldn’t notice or pay much mind to it without reading it first. Plenty of missions and you can definitely feel the politics of the different factions even from the beginning. The weapons and armors are pretty darn cool too! Great RPG elements here with customization and cool crafting, skills, and attributes. Easily spent 6 hours doing side missions before even embarking to the main island there is a good bit to discover and it is well worth a play.
