A group of flawed characters come together along with innumerable volunteers in a rescue attempt on behalf of a group of young boys in Thailand who find themselves trapped in an underground cave during a monsoon. It is a riveting tale told with heart pounding zeal by the director Ron Howard. The diver's courage and tenacity in the face of overwhelming odds is most affecting as is the devotion and selflessness of all those individuals who acted together to make the impossible possible. The actors do an outstanding job of bringing these diver's lives into focus, among them Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Tom Bateman. This is a really good movie. Don't miss it.

Fascinating to see New York City c. 1948. An extraordinary cast of characters in addition to the city itself. Like a prequel to Law and Order, supplying lots of New York actors with work. Extraordinary cast of recognizable actors of the period, at least for those of us who have reached octogenarian status.But by any measure a really good movie.

A fine film that takes it's time telling it's very human story within this beautiful English landscape with this trio of young actors who will go on to become world famous. The supporting cast is as remarkable as Firth, Branagh and Richardson.Well written, acted, directed and photographed.

Excellent film with a winning cast, well written and directed. Many standout performances and intricate plotting lend to the overall enjoyment of this portrait of a charming sociopath played by Dirk Bogarde. In brilliant black and white. British Noir at it's best.
