I had decided he took his life because of his depression and alcoholism. This was a guy I felt very close to emotionally and boy did I have the details wrong. Robin had undiagnosed Lewy body dementia. I met a guy with Lewy body and saw first hand what the deterioration is like. By the time I met Otto his wife Bunny was helping him deal with a cane, then quickly is was a wheel chair,,,,,,,,,,, then in a matter of months he was not at meetings. Shortly after that he died from this dreadful disease. I can just imagine what Robin was struggling with. Trying to keep working, being funny, making other's lives better, have a good life with Susan - these were what it was about for him. I can't imagine what fear, loss and helplessness he experienced that led him to take his life. I deal with lifelong depression, but it is not shredding my brain like Lewy body does. I miss you Robin. I understand now.
