Excellent, season 2 is movie quality level.

Imagine a delicious salad: own Hanks' Castaway, Wall-E, a bit of Terminator, Seeking a Friend.. Add the quintessential Hollywood cute dog. Amblin, and of course Hanks himself, the last Classic Hollywood, lovable character. The only one who could fill these shoes. Some will find it a tearjerker, what with that majestic sound score, and the desert endlessness. Some will find it slow with its bonfire stories about failed humanity, unattainable dreams and yet a journey of redemption. Trust, hope and revival. I didn't cry this much since AI. I say this is good meter.

My favourite show ever, dramatic, romantic, adventurous: a catalog of sci-fi items all revisited. But the importance is in the characters, they all gel wonderfully. This is in its core a story about love, about family and connections, throughout time and realities. All of the cast shines, the lovely and versatile Anna Torv, the incredibly empathic Jasika Nicole, but it's John Noble who steals the whole show with his madness and humour out of nowhere, LSD trips and all. And Joshua Jackson in a nuance performance builds a chemistry with him for the ages. You also get a real fine ending, which is, you know a rare item in most TV shows.

What's not to love? The great Emma Thompson in a small but hilarious part, a romantic/fantastic plot, that Xmas redemption dream, George Michael - lots of his music, some social commentary and of course the naturally Adorable (c) Emilia Clarke. This never goes out of season.
