All I knew about this movie when I went to see it was that it had good reviews. Why? I couldn’t tell you because if you are not already familiar with what the story is about the the movie sure as hell doesn’t explain it. I did not know what was going on the whole time. What I gathered: there is some sand people and they are at war with some space people for drugs aka spice. Then it cuts to some chosen kid who could talk in a funny voice with his brain but I don’t know which side he’s on. Then Jason Mamoa shows up and is a terrible actor and he’s fighting the space people or the sand people or maybe they slipped in some other people that I didn’t notice. Oh! And there are giant sand worms and people fly around in helicopters but the propellers spin like a dragon flys wings and there is some witch lady and every once in a while it will cut to some floating space ship….I walked out. I would tell the director don’t even bother making a second part because as George Bush once famously said “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice….let’s just say you ain’t gonna fool me again.”
