The writing is reminiscent of a well thought out and well planned script for a junior high school movie project. The actors and actresses are fine, the idea is not bad. The writing for the dialogue and the general stuff is as if someone with no social or life experience is putting down what they think people would do. Character dialogue harkens back to the style of Young Adult novels IE Goosebumps or the style of dialogue from the original Resident Evil game for playstaion (Wow! What a mansion!) The cringeworthy-ness of this show is not the fault of the performers, but the writers. Unfortunately for the performers, if this show is remembered, their future careers will suffer. The SyFy network has better taste than to air a show of this quality. That's saying something.
To those that say this is a good or decent show, well I either want to weep for your lack of experience with good shows or I wish to congratulate you on scoring a job with Netflix leaving reviews.
This show, I believe, made it to production because someone lost a bet.
