I feel like people giving the 1 star reviews are Karens or over bearing people or people who are just insanely confused. Yes the movie covers the topics of periods, disobeying parents, and other topics. The topic of periods is going to come up some point in life. It’s a part of life, I don’t understand why people are freaking out over it. I knew about periods from a young age. It’s not a big deal. The disobeying parents thing is something I feel like almost everyone who had an overbearing parent or parents did during that stage. I know I used to do that. If you think your kid is going to choose you over friends when they are 12-15 years old, they won’t. Also they bring up sexual references. Around when puberty hits, people start to think that way due to teenage hormones during puberty. Also, the movie is supposed to be cringy for a reason because it was supposed to give that second hand embarrassment. As someone who loved 1D and 5SOS around that age, I laughed when I watched the movie. And yes the sexual things done in the movie are just mistakes girls do when they are that young. The only thing I agree with from the haters is that it shouldn’t be towards a certain audience. I don’t think the movie should be shown to 0-7 year olds who may not fully understand even if you explain it to them. I overall though found it a great movie with definitely a lot of things that were relatable for me. You’ll like the movie too if you aren’t a stick in the mud.

One of my favorite movies of all time! It keeps you drawn to the screen! The only bad part is the blackface. I understand that things were different then. I personally find it disturbing and weird to say the least.
