Absolutely captivating watching the journey from arthur a man who is severely depressed and suffers from a lot of abuse to becoming the joker and embracing the nihilistic void inside his head and give in to madness and surrender to this urge to hurt everyone. I loved the fact that I can see this version of the joker eventually turn into the version heath ledger shared with the world I particularly liked Joaquin Phoenixs body movements and watching him embody the ticks and twitches of his character. There were a lot.of.moments that I cringed for arthur as a character and a lot of times I had empathy for him, but watching him become the joker was amazing and what I waited for since the movie began.
