I don't usually review movies but I am such a big fan of DQ and the good movies he has done that I felt I had to say something. Movie was unfortunately not that great because of the plot holes. The visual were great and the songs are magical and I will be listening to them all the time but story line itself unfortunately didn't make a lot of sense. I get that it's a story about a small village but the story seems to touch on a lot of topics but doesn't explain any of it further. It seems to further support the stereotype of people living in villages are still dealing with issues like they did from old sreenivasan movies? I am sorry, but that is not true to real life anymore. Like what happened to shyama? She's done after randomly obsessing over ashokan and saying irky lines about ashokan's height? Or what happened to ashokans mental health issues? Never talked about and ignored cause he went to a magical place for a few days? And everything is happy again if you ignore all the deeper issues? Speaking of issues ignored, what about the friend who hated his wife but now suddenly resolved? What happened there? So many plot holes all over. Please DQ use your platform to pick better stories, there are much better relatable stories out there that could teach people outside of India or even within India what it means truly to be Malayalee in today's society. Netflix has been great source for others to learn about new culture and movies. I was so excited that another malayalam movie was released on Netflix but I can't tell my friends to watch this movie that doesn't fully develop as a story.
