I didn't care much for how the original trilogy was told in 1st person. That being said, I think this one would have benefited greatly if it were told in 1st person. The story of the progression of Snow turning evil is just not there. It's wildly disappointing. He's the "good guy", for lack of a better word, for the whole book. The type of character you feel sympathy, or empathy for during the whole story. It's as though the author remembered at the last minute "oh wait a minute, I need to make him a bad guy that you'll hate." If you've read the hunger games trilogy first, then of course you will know it has to come. But if you're reading this one as an introduction to the series for the first time, his actions will seem out of character with no explanation. - That and for the love of God we don't need detailed lyrics to every single song! Important ones, yes. But it seems like a lot of filler.
