Anupama Asthana

Anupamaa, during her first transformation is seen as a detached wife but a good mother and daughter in law.This was quite acceptable. Next, she should have been stronger while taking a stand and dealing with Ba, Toshu, Pakhi and Kavya. It can be done even now, it is not late. After divorce, she should not give liberty to Vanraj, Ba or Kavya to influence her personal life to this extent. She is not answerable to them in all matters, now. This is not easily acceptable to the viewers. Next, very importantly, it is required that she should be clear about her likings and dislikings (other than becoming an independent working woman) and pursue them strongly, without any guilt. Otherwise all these steps, she has taken so far, including divorce, look meaningless. The story line is good and direction is good. Psychological part is dealt nicely. Character of Anupama is very sensitive and is being handled very carefully (it should not look strong at the same time it should not look weak or soft, both will be unacceptable to some age group or the other). The main idea, I think, in the mind of makers is to show, how to deal with Anupama's situation in a more matured manner without affecting other relations and maintaining self-respect and dignity. Anupama has been denied of love and respect for last twenty five years, though she never ignored any of her duties. She deserves it and she should go for it. This should be the clear message to the society through this serial.
