I guess all those 1 stars come from that segment of audiences who prefers watching fast-paced movies and appreciates spoon-feeding story lines.
Plot- The movie revolves around three women - the gran, her daughter and her granddaughter. The gran was absent for a few days and when she returned she had no idea where she was. Soon the plot starts to thicken as you will find the gran is not herself anymore.
The movie perfectly captures emotions like abandonment, resentment, and guilt, which later turns into aggression, confusion and fear. However, the movie ends with acceptance and empathy.
I don't want to spill-out any spoilers but if you are a person who loves mind-bending movies laced with multiple interpretation and symbolism, then you will deeply regret missing it.
I thoroughly enjoy the movie. At first i too felt that the story is moving quite slow, but believe me if you get the symbolism behind it then you will fall in love with the movie.
Don't let the bad rating affect your decision making.
PS- If you feel confused at the end, then you can always refer to a 'ending explained' video in you tube.
