Tl,dr: MAID is an amazing experience; one that everyone should have the chance to see at least once. A masterpiece of acting, story telling, and understanding our own humanity.
Now, I'm your very stereotypical male. I love meat and potatoes and watching college sports. I hide my emotions by with "masculinity" and seldom find time to cry or show any emotion outwardly that might make me look weak. BUT THIS SHOW MADE ME BAWL LIKE A BABY. And not just once -almost every single episode. The pain and healing that takes place in Alex's life (female protagonist) and -at some points in time- Sean's (the most obvious antagonist) is touching and as humbling as it gets. I imagine I'll get roasted by some people for saying that it was touching to see Sean's story play out as well, but it was beautiful in a lot of ways too. The performances these actors gave was phenomenal and the directing shows the experiences the main character goes through in such a way that we can all find a piece of ourselves by watching this. Well done to all who helped make this show happen. It's truly an experience worth having.
