Slim plot device stretched too long. Rarely funny, never charming, frequently didactic. Hellbent on smashing stereotypes of homosexuals, it presents them as football players,boxers, and, if the message still isnโt clear, asserts that disapproval is evidence of insecurity with ones own heterosexuality. And it calls them โgayโ in a film set in the โ30s, when the term had not yet been appropriated to mean homosexuals.
