As other reviewers have stated if you intended to watch this series as a true adaption to the original book series, you'll be disappointed. My review is based solely on the series as a stand alone. I found Rowan to be reminiscent of Bella Swan in the Twilight Movies, jumpy naive and not really credible as someone who is meant to be a surgeon. A lot of the characters seem surface thin and I didn't really develop much interest in any of them. Lasher seems more comical then evil, the Talamasca dude seems to just be there to push story along etc The whole thing seemed like a b movie done on a small budget on a whim. Sadly I probably would only watch s2 if I was bored and needed background noise.

Let's start with the fact that I watched the original she's all that back in the 90s so I'm that old. My teen daughter asked me to watch this one with her and thought it would be great to watch a remake. She filled me on the controversy surrounding Addison being a tik tok star and personally I really don't know what that has to do with anything as many famous actors had no training etc. That aside and probably my age I just couldn't enjoy it. Beginning with the over the top portrayal of gen z and comical way an outcast just seems to be ok with it all. The product placement also annoyed me as did the entire online theme. If you're looking for a movie to laugh at not with and not take too seriously then this movie is for you. There is also no moral outcome for our main character still ends the movie as an online addict who can not enjoy a moment without filming it so really there's nothing of substance at all.
