This is a show where you root for the villain because the main characters are unbearably brainless. The overall concept of the show is fantastic, as are the actors. However, many of the major plot points are frustratingly illogical and caused by someone being unreasonably stupid. The two main characters - one of which is a prosecutor - are presented as smart in many instances (such as coming to conclusions based on little evidence), but make and repeat dumb mistakes just for the sake of stretching out the episode as long as possible, along with conveniently forgetting important facts about the killer and abyss. For example (vague spoiler), upon one of the characters finding out the serial killer’s identity, they antagonize the serial killer in a secluded area, unarmed, instead of calling the police or alerting anyone nearby. I bet you can guess exactly what happened next. It is unforgivably dumb decisions like these that forced me to take breaks from watching the show.
