When I saw the ads for this show I was a little put off with the animation, but after watching a few episodes I adjusted to it a lot quicker than I thought because the characters and story are so much fun. It feels like a DND campaign for kids made into a tv show- which I love. The cast is very interesting and the show hits on some heavy subjects like forgiveness, knowing when to use diplomacy rather than violence, and how to stick to convictions/do the right thing even when an entire room of people disagrees.
I think the talk of โSJWโ in these reviews is strange, because in a world of dragons and elves itโs the deaf general whoโs not believable. Apparently some reviewers donโt know much about generals, since they are command positions not directly on the battlefield. Meaning that signs donโt interfere with direct combat. And when she is in direct combat she handles the greater threat and her second in command deal with field commands. What the โSJWโ comments really are saying is that people have a hard time accepting that the fantasy genre is finally expanding to have even more diverse characters than weโve seen in the past. Nothing in the narratives are forced, everything just is the way it is in this world. The only people who have problems with it are the people who donโt have the imagination to accept that people different from them can hold positions of power.
