Still my all time FAVORITE 80s movie!!! The cast, direction, and performances were unbelievable and unsurpassed. From what I remember, this was Lawrence Kasdin's first solo project after his co-production from Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark. The film noir dialogue between Danson, Hurt, Turner, Preston, and Crenna helps me appreciate my parents's understanding of classic 30s and 40s films. I eventually bought the DVD so I can go back to catch every single subtle movement, word, and expression. Kasdin is a GENIOUS. I'm so grateful I was able to watch Kasdin's work. The sex scenes between Hurt and Turner are still pretty steamy by today's standards. Most people that watch this movie don't recognize that Lowenstein's character was portrayed by Ted Danson from Cheers. My God, can someone in Hollywood PLEASE start making movies like this again?!?!? 🎭🎬🙏👍✌️💪

This movie was a classic 80s film with an all star cast. Bridges, Close, Loggia, Coyote, et al. I still rate this movie as one of Glenn Close's best performances. Siskle and Ebert remarked that Peter Coyote's performance was solid and convincing. Jeff Bridges's performance as the antagonist was a brilliant departure. I never miss an opportunity to watch this movie every time it runs on my local classic movies channel. I probably need to purchase the DVD....📽️🎬🎭👍✌️

This was an excellent crime drama. The plot and characters were similar to the cast of Heat 95'. The characters were thorough and wise. The ending shoot out was predictable, but well scripted. I thought the antagonist were multi-dimensional, which added to the drama. Gerard Butler was believable as a weary crime fighter just trying to survive to see retirement.

If you're a fan of English satire, you must see this movie!! Michael Palin and Maggie Smith both deserved Oscar nominations. Typical brilliant writing, and the story was brilliant.
