Emmett “Em” Bolerra

I wish I could say that this movie was great. Unfortunately... I cannot. This movie had SO MUCH potential. So much! I love the plot, the villain, but... the love story is... huh? Obviously this ISN'T a kids movie. The amount of sex jokes are insane. That's not my point, however. The male love interest is literally about to get married to another woman, and I kept waiting for proof that the girl is bad or something, and it NEVER happens. The man barely feels bad about kissing somebody else like the day before his wedding...

"We need to talk about Kevin" is a masterpiece that people will not understand This movie is very confusing, so I want to kind of... unconfuse-it (I'm a teen, I can't spell) This movie follows the life of Eva, Kevin, Franklin/John 2.0(watch Orphan to get my reference!), and Celia. This movie works through flashbacks. There are three main times: Kevin's childhood, Kevin as a teenager, and Kevin in jail. Eva and Franklin are both unreliable parents, with Eva favoring her youngest child Celia, and Franklin refusing to listen to Eva about thinking Kevin has problems. This story is technically not accurate to the story, because it is through the eyes of Eva, a mental unstable woman. She's a purpose-fully unreliable narrator, and it makes the movie even more bleak. It can be kind of confusing, but you should look at how Eva's hair looks to know what part of the story you are in. Its long sometimes, short... it helps a lot! This story is one of those stories where all you want is answers. People seem to hate Eva in present day, Kevin is in jail, plus Franklin and Celia are nowhere to be seen. In before-jail Kevin part, Eva is trying to get closer to Kevin, while its obvious Kevin doesn't care about her much. There is a LOT of foreshadowing that I caught on quickly, but my mom and dad both did not, and the climax is... wow. Its a good movie about mental health in my opinion.

This movie is great. The music is phenomenal (the people ranking the songs are forgetting What It Sounds Like). You have to remember that, yes, this movie is a kids movie (cringe and cliches are guaranteed!), and, yes there are demons. Christians, please listen up! If you begin to show your children this film and turn it off at the sight of a demon, i want you to think of it this way. One of the songs, near the end, called Your Idol, is a perfect example of the devil to teach your children about Satan trying to deceive you, with people being hypnotized and listening. You can explain to your children that this is how the devil gets you, and since it shows the main character go against the big demon leader, teach your kids to be like her (not including her hidden half... watch the movie to understand) SPOILER EXAMPLE: At the end of the movie, the Saja Boys hypnotize a concert with a song called Your Idol. Some good lyric examples of what you could imagine Satan saying to attempt to deceive you: "I will make you free when you're all apart of me" "Anytime it hurts, play another verse, I can be your sanctuary" "(Pray for me now) *insert Latin demon incantations here*" After that, Rumi comes in and gives us a not christian but a good moral through song. Don't be ashamed of your differences. Be proud. She sings about love, realizing that her patterns don't define her, and in the end, HUNTR/X is victorious, having not been deceived by the Saja Boys. Now, first of all, remember. This is about Korean culture, NOT Christianity. But, if you want, you can actually turn this into a lesson for your children. Teach them what being decieved looked like, and tell them what to do. Would of give 5 stars except they cut out all of the needed Saja Boys backstories

I was born in 2009, so I did not grow up with the original. I watched this when it came out, and it was CREEPY. But, not too scary for children. The plot is actually extremely dark, but most children do not see or think that far. I had a fear of clowns around this time, so it might of made the whole clown circus thing creepier for me, but as somebody who couldn't handle real horror until i was 12 (2 years after watching season 1 of this), this was the perfect starter! There were tense scenes where you got that "a jumpscare is coming" feeling, but they never came. The best written antagonist out of every AYAOTD thing, in my opinion!

Ok so this was great! But the dark turn.., eh. It's great for the most part! :)
