Finally, a life of Christ story that actually acknowledges Hebraic context and the fact that He grew up as a Jew from the tribe of Judah! It's so nice to see of whom Christ was referring to when He prayed: "these have kept your word and therefore have come to know that I came from you." (Christ's High Priestly prayer of John 17)... what did these people look like who were "keeping His word" back then? What was the historical context and/or traditions that made Christ's choice of words and parables as impactful as they were? Given Gentiles weren't brought into the narrative until after Peter's vision of Acts 10, it's so good to see a director not afraid to acknowledge context of Jewish culture. By far the most biblically and contextually accurate retelling of the life of Christ I've come across to-date. Our family binge-watches it on a regular basis. I dare anyone to be able to stop after just one episode! LOL!!
