I haven't been into anime too long. Never thought it would be my type of thing. Until I watched SAO and absolutely fell in love with it! I love everything about it! Now, i have rewatched SAO probably about 25 times. I have come to know every little detail about all of it. It's my comfort show and I always come back to watch it at least once every other month. But I think knowing everything I do about the original show made the movie a little bit disappointing for me. They changed some things that didn't happen in the show. One thing i have always loved about the show and even the ordinal scale movie is their attention to detail and having the storyline always matching up somehow. Just those little details that make you see that they know and remember small things. I haven't ever read the progressive series, so i didn't know anything about it when i went to see the movie. I was just so happy to be revisiting aincrad and seeing stuff that i never got to see in the show. When they showed scenes that happened in the show, i expected them to keep as much detail from the show as they possibly could. But i saw so many things that were different and it really bothered me for some reason. Details like how when kirito and asuna were talking on their way to the boss fight and he was talking to her about "switching" and in the show, she had no idea what he meant. Like when they were fighting the boss and the new girl showed up to help, but she wasn't there at all in the show. How it seemed like they already implied a relationship with him and asuna, but in the show we can clearly see they have some problems when he is meeting with them at the knights of the blood oath meeting and they are arguing. When they took down the boss and he got his cloak, but the cloak was clearly different. Little things like that made the movie not as good for me. Will i continue to watch them when they release? Most likely. Because it's still SAO. But I'll also be able to pick out every little thing that is different. I also didn't like the new character being introduced because i feel like she is the one that threw everything off. I also don't like how she left asuna the way she did.
