The Chosen, to me, is the most realistic portrayal of Jesus and his disciples I have ever seen. The producer, Dallas Jenkins, and his team, have created a series (instead of a movie) about the life of Christ as God in Human flesh; which Jonathan Roumie so masterfully portrays. The disciples are depicted as human, (meaning they make mistakes) as well, which helps me relate to them so much better than if they were statues at St. Peters. Each episode not only brings you closer to each character, but, also, introduces new ones. These 'new' people are intricately woven into the Biblical accounts so that when you go back to your Bible and read the "old, old stories"...Matthew and John become FACES in your head! When Matthew speaks, you hear a voice of someone you've heard and seen before! It makes the BIBLE JUMP OFF THE PAGE! Suddenly, the BIBLE becomes 3-Dimensional!
