I was very much looking forward to seeing this movie. However I found it disappointing. Some of the behavior of the characters and some of the scenes didn't make sense to me. For instance: why would the two messengers try to save the life of the German pilot, since they were at war and and they had spent the afternoon climbing over their decomposing comrades, and since the plane was on fire and that alone endangered themselves after having met up with the mysterious convoy, why didn't that officer assign one of his many men to replace the fallen messenger, since so many lives were at stake and it was obviously a dangerous task and there was the possibility that the remaining messenger might not make it when the remaining messenger is pursued by the German soldier, he ends up in a well fire lit room with a young woman, just seconds before the German was looking for and firing at him, it would seem that the German was either blind or stupid and didn't seem to me to be the best place to hide when crossing the river how did he know where the sniper was shooting from when jumping into the river, in what had been a fairly flat looking landscape, the river is a torrent he was soaking wet after having been in the river, and all dry minutes later although he finds the group of men he is supposed to, and there are lots and lots of them, he finds the brother in short order
